Sales were up by 17% in December 2023 compared to the previous year.

A total of 210 real properties were sold during the month of December in the south-east region of N.B.  This represents a 17% increase compared to the same period last year.  So far this year, a total of 3,930 properties have been reported sold at the MLS Board, a 9% decrease in the number of sold properties; but more significantly is a 7% decrease in total property dollar volume for the same month.

The area continues to see a more than usual limited number of active properties for sale, there were 1,550 properties for sale at the end of December 2023.  During the previous month, a total of 217 new listings were recorded at the MLS® Board, which represents no change compared to the same period the previous year.  However, the total number of new listings for the year is down by only 8% compared to 2022.  A total of 5,914 properties were listed for sale so far in 2023.

The list-to-sale ratio for the month of December was at 105%, unchanged compared to the previous year, the ratio is now at 74% year to date. We can now observe a local market that is still favorable to sellers.
